What is Astor House about?
We are a neighborhood counter service restaurant serving lunch, brunch and handcrafted cocktails, beer and wine in the heart of the Historic Coronado Neighborhood. Astor House provides dining inside as well as patio seating in our "front and back yard". A sister to Tuck Shop who is our neighbor to the north, we have adopted a simliar philosophy where we create an interesting twist on familiar and unfamiliar dishes. Where does the name Astor House come from? Another obtuse boarding school reference I'm afraid. For the full story you have to pay us a visit and ask. Do you sell liquor? We have a license to serve wine, beer and spiritous liquor. Our goal was to find an interesting selection of value driven options by off the beaten path producers. The majority of which have a nice story behind their product and pair exceptionally with our food. Anything else, events? We have been offering a wide variety of fun things and plan to continue doing so on a weekly(ish) basis. We just had a Kermit Lynch wine dinner where 5 courses of "French Countryside" fare was paired with 5 complementary French wines. On the other end of the spectrum, at the Halloween backyard BBQ featuring 4 peaks pumpkin porter, we were grilling brats and veggies and handing out homemade snickers bars. Stay tuned for more upcoming events. Do you have a dress code? Nah, not really. Whatever makes you feel comfortable and hungry. Do you offer take-out? Yes! Call ahead or come in person for your to-go order. Will you host my private party, cater my event, or plan a special event? Sure -- we would love to talk about it. We have hosted weddings, happy hours, baby showers, and tons of other "mixers" both inside and out. Call us at 602-687-9775, and ask for Jessica. Or email her at jessica@astorinphx.com. |
